What We Believe

Scriptures - The Bible is God's complete and written revelation of Himself to man. The Scriptures are inerrant and infallible in their original manuscripts. God's Word is man's only reliable and authoritative source for what we believe and how we live.

God - God is eternally existent. He is the one true and living God. He is one in essence, but 3 in person. He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.God became flesh in the incarnation. His name was Jesus Christ. Because He had God for His Father and a human for his mother, He was fully God and fully man. He lacked the sin nature and never sinned. Hence, He could become our sacrificial lamb without spot or blemish. His blood could atone for the sins of the world.

Atonement - Atonement refers to God's work of buying man back from his sinful estate, forgiving his sin and placing him into the forever family of God. Salvation is by grace through faith purchased by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Trusting in the finished work of Christ on the cross is the means to salvation (eternal life).

Church - The church is comprised of those who believe in Jesus Christ and functions as local groups of baptized believers. The two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Man - Man is descended from two human beings directly and supernaturally created by God in sinless estate, but who disobeyed God. Thus all men are born with a sin nature and all have sinned. Only the saving grace of God through Christ alleviates man's sin problem and allows man to know God, glorify God and spend eternity with God. No man seeks God on his own. No man comes to God except through Christ.

Last Things - It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgement. There is a literal heaven and a literal hell which will separate for eternity those who turned to Christ from those who did not.Christ will literally, physically and visibly return at the hour known by the Father only. All who are in the graves will hear his voice. The resurrection of the righteous will be unto eternal life. The resurrection of those not placing faith in the shed blood of Christ will be unto eternal torment in the lake of fire.
